Her ultimate goal is to activate consistent community engagement.

When looking into the future, Meagan sees herself teaching the next generation and engineering events that focus on the collective community.

“I definitely want to be an event curator, like a community organizer, but I also want to be an educator. I would love to be a professor too,” she explained.

Meagan is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but has been in Los Angeles for the past decade, settling in the bustling Echo Park neighborhood. Her educational journey took her from Dysart High School in Arizona to Northwestern High School in Maryland, and finally to the Los Angeles Film School, where she polished her creative skills. She is now on a mission to combine her talents for education, activism, and event curating into a dynamic platform that encourages others to become involved in their communities.

Meagan’s social media presence recently shifted to focus on community-building. She leverages her influence on different social media channels like Instagram and YouTube to share exciting content that promotes local events, encourages genuine relationships and invites people to become active participants in their communities.

“I think that we definitely need to start getting more involved with our community and being active participants,” Meagan said, “I thought it would be fun to start creating content that encourages and inspires people to do just that, but also content that showcases the fun events that I like planning.”

For instance, the Temple Art Market; a monthly event held in Echo Park. “It really just showcases and amplifies local artists and small businesses while encouraging people to develop connections with people in their community,” Meagan said.
