Pastor Mary S. Minor and the members of Brookins-Kirkland Community AME Church held two celebratory services recently. On July 30, Annual Missionary Day was observed, which included a salute to Jeremiah Daniels, a Westchester High School graduate accepted into Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.

On July 23, Presiding Elder Roosevelt Lindsey delivered a spirit-filled message entitled, “Aging and What Are You Asking God For” based on 1 Kings 3:3-15.  Lindsey’s main points to parishioners were (1) your attitude determines your age, (2) don’t give up as you age, (3) ask God to help you help others, and (4) continue to grow stronger in Christ.
