First AME Church – L.A. sponsors a free mental health forum entitled, “Coping with Stress and Loss During the Holidays,” on Dec. 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in FAME Church’s Allen House, 2249 S. Harvard Blvd., in Los Angeles, said Pastor J. Edgar Boyd.  The Rev. Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis, a licensed psychologist, will offer tips to minimize anxiety and stress. On Dec. 15, at 4 p.m., Sunday School Department will present their annual Christmas musical, “Straight Outta Bethlehem,” on the FAME plaza level, 2270 S. Harvard Blvd., in Los Angeles. On Dec. 21, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., the annual Christmas Giveaway takes place. Gently used coats, jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves will be distributed. Knights of Peter Claver and the Ladies Auxiliary, a Catholic fraternal organization, an awards program on Dec. 8, at 1 p.m., at the Proud Bird Events Center, 11022 Aviation Blvd, in Los Angeles. The honorees are Bishop Joseph Brennan, Sister Oralisa Martin, Father Kenneth Templin and Sister Kathleen Bryant. LeRoy Titus and Sharon Agnew are the event co-chairs. The ticket donation is $75. Trinity Baptist Church plans a Christmas concert, “O Holy Night,” on Dec. 15, at 3:30 p.m., at 2040 W. Jefferson Blvd., in Los Angeles, said Pastor Alvin Tunstill. The combined choirs will sing under the direction of Roland Hamilton.  On Dec. 21, the 12th annual Homeless Blanket Drive takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in their garage parking lot. Miracle Temple Church of God Pentecostal host their annual Community Christmas Luncheon on Dec. 21, at 1 p.m., at 109 W. Buckthorn St., in Inglewood, said Bishop Johnny Young, senior pastor. The event will be held in the fellowship hall and is open to the public.

Brookins-Kirkland Community AME Church plans Christmas Musical on on Dec. 21, at 3 p.m., at 3719 W. Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles, said Pastor Mary S. Minor. The Music Ministry sponsors the event. On Dec. 22, at 7:45 p.m., an intergenerational Christmas program will be held in the sanctuary, followed by Christmas worship at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
