Dillard University is pleased to announce the appointment of Adria N. Kimbrough, Esq., as Pre-Law Advisor for its Center for Law and Public Interest. The role is a continuation of Kimbrough’s volunteer efforts over the last three years, where she has served as an advisor and mentor to aspiring law students at Dillard University. Kimbrough’s efforts have included the creation of a Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) Boot Camp designed to increase student test scores, and a host of workshops and lectures to expose students to the legal profession. As a result, Dillard University students have had an opportunity to hear from a multitude of speakers ranging from Chief Judge Carl E. Stewart of the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to the current American Bar Association President Paulette Brown.
For more than 15 years, Kimbrough has spent her career working in both higher education and law. She has served as an Assistant Dean of Students at Cornell University, University Attorney at Albany State University, Associate at the Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon and Galchus law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, and as Associate General Counsel for the University of Arkansas System. Additionally, Kimbrough serves as Of Counsel with the Kullman Law Firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a member of the Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and Louisiana Bar Associations as well as the American Bar Association where she was selected as a Fellow for the Young Lawyers Division Section of Labor and Employment Law.
In the New Orleans community, Kimbrough most recently served as a Board Member of the Louisiana Center for Women in Government and Business and as a Commissioner for the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission. She also serves as an Advisory Board Member for College Track New Orleans and the teacher for the Adult Sunday School class at First Grace United Methodist Church where she and her family are members.
Kimbrough is a native of Mobile, Alabama, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Talladega College (Talladega, Alabama), and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law (Cincinnati, Ohio).
