The California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation (CLBCF) recently announced the appointment of Greg Gorman, Managing Counsel, YUM Brands, Inc., to its Board of Directors.

“The CLBCF is extremely pleased to welcome Greg Gorman to the Board.” Exec. Director Yvette Chappell-Ingram said. “Greg’s experience in developing and implementing public advocacy strategies is invaluable to the Foundation as we teach the community ‘how to advocate’. Coupling this knowledge with his implementation expertise for diversity initiatives and public giving programs, we are sure to benefit from his knowledge and expertise.”

The Foundation is fast-developing a reputation as the “go-to” non-profit organization for African Americans, and other traditionally underserved communities such as Latinos, who desire information and want useful tools for becoming effective leaders.

The Foundation is focused on creating community leaders who possess the desire to improve their daily lives. Through programs such as Project BUILD, (Blacks United In Leadership Development), its Summer Internship Program, the annual Conference and Health & Education Summits, the CLBCF serves as a driving force that teaches individuals how to be leaders who can shape public policy to meet the needs of their communities.

“I am excited to be affiliated with the Foundation, it helps train tomorrow’s leaders while educating us about the issues that confront us today.” Gorman said. “I look forward to working with the Foundation and its members.”

Gorman also holds Board of Director positions with the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California, the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce, and Straightline Nonprofits, Inc.

Gorman joined the invitation-only California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation Board of Directors earlier this year. It includes an impressive list of elected officials, business and community leaders, and others including: Founder and current Assembly Member, Mervyn Dymally, Assembly Member Sandre Swanson, Dr. Walter Cathey, The Institute of Community Pharmacy; Linda Crayton, Comcast; Edmond Lelo, Wells Fargo Bank; James L. McGhee, JLM Management Group; Yvette Radford-Tucker, Kaiser Permanente; Melanie Shelby, PG&E; Maxine Sherard, PhD, Educator, Scott Syphax, Nehemiah Corporation; Denita Willoughby, AT&T; and Geoffrey Taylor Gibbs, Gibbs Oliphant.

Gorman’s broad range of duties and responsibilities at YUM Brands, Inc., includes managing the domestic real estate and development law department for the corporation that owns Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, A&W Restaurants and Long John Silvers.
