First AME Church of Los Angeles celebrated the 1st annual “Mothers & Daughters – A Legacy of Love Brunch” on Saturday, May 4.

At high noon, members and guests gathered in the beautiful Allen House Gardens surrounded by beautiful spring bouquets and live music from harpist Gracie Sprout.  The Rev. Ann Champion Shaw kicked off the event with a lively rendition of “We Are Family,” then introduced the recorded reading of an original poem by first daughter, Raven Noel Lovelace Shaw.
