Israel explicitedly in the news. I hope you find this interesting and appropriate the subject of “the land.” The LORD it is. Factually, the unconditional covenant that The LORD made with Abraham and subsequent assurance to Moses points up the irrevocable promises The LORD made to the Israelites and applicable to believers. Why am I interested and concerned about “The Land?” The word of The LORD talks all about subjects. These we are watching, observing and participating in the days’ eventful happenings. Capturing this opportunity to bring up the subject of “The Land,” seemed to be timely. The Old testament and the New Testament are of interest to a grand and unlimited population and constituency. Genesis 15:1-6 Abraham was puzzled because he had no heir from his own body.

The LORD arrested his fears by making the Abrahamic covenant of seed and land, therefore assuring him of his future heir from his own body. He may not have understood fully when the LORD explained to him about the innumerable seed represented by stars (righteousness) that would come through Abraham (unconditional promise). The LORD arrested Abram’s fears and as verse 6 says, “And Abraham believed (concerning Christ) the LORD and it was accounted (reckoned) to him for righteousness” (he believed concerning Christ); the consequence of the Gospel being preached to Abram; righteous testimony of faith upon which we stand even today. Galatians 3:8, “The scripture forseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, and preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, “In thee shall all nations be blessed with faithful Abraham.”

Numbers chapter 13 describes the Israelites going to spy out the land of Canaan and the results of their expedition after viewing this fertile land; and their fear of the giants already occupying the land. Only Joshua and Caleb not stricken with fear and unbelief that God had already prepared the way to take the land; all others recoiled in fear and refused to “take the land.” This caused an unspeakable delay up to today of possessing the land. Below are the boundaries of the land. (I will cover other descriptive scriptures at another time). You will see how important this subject is because those who are interested in today’s news. This will help to give clearer understanding of what is actually taking place and why!

Numbers 34:1-13-King James Version-The Land Boundaries “And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, 2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:) 3 Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward: 4 And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon 5 From Azmon the boundary shall turn toward the Wadi of Egypt and terminate at the Sea. 6 And as for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border. 7 And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor: 8 From mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the 9 And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border. 10 And ye shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham: 11 And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; from there the boundary shall continue downward and abut on the eastern slopes of the sea of Chinnereth. 12 And the border shall go down to Jordan, and terminate at the Dead Sea. This shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about. 13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad: border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward. There are other biblical references on “the land” to be covered. Stay tuned.
