After the Dodgers clinched the NL West championship, they lost to the number one seeded Oakland Athletics 6-4. They attempted to come back with a home-run from Cody Bellinger and a clutch homer from Edwin Rios. Ramon Laureano from the A’s hit a two-run homer in the ninth to take the lead and seal the game.
Despite the loss, manager Dave Roberts mentioned he saw some great things from the team, including an outstanding pitching performance from Julio Urias. He thought his command was strong, and instead of the loss, he wants the team to focus on that.
Urias pitched to the seventh inning, and he stated he has no problem with it because that is his mentality. “Today was just focusing on the game-plan, and I’m glad everything worked out.” He is excited and motivated to go back to the playoffs. “I’m really happy, and that is what you work for, and as a team, you are really motivated to be out there. This time I think we will go for all the marbles as we say in Mexico, and it is very satisfying to see my team go out there and give 100%. We’re going to do some good stuff.”
The Dodgers will start pitcher Walker Buehler tomorrow in his first major league game in ten days since his injury.
