More than 375 friends and supporters of Flight Path Museum at LAX turned out on Oct. 3 for “A Global Affaire,” a celebration the glamour and excitement of flight around the world.
Deborah Flint, CEO of Los Angeles World Airports, was the keynote speaker for the museum’s 24th annual fundraiser, which included the awarding of more than $17,000 in competitive scholarships to promising aviation and aerospace students.
Upon red carpet arrival, guests enjoyed a champagne welcome, LAX behind-the-scenes bus tours, exciting silent auction and raffle items, flight simulator demonstrations and a selection of international appetizers.
Guests gathered in a special pavilion on the LAX tarmac with sunset views of the tower, Theme building and aircraft landing and taking off, while hearing from Flint, who gave an update on the $14 billion LAX modernization program. The evening included the presentation of the museum’s Guiding Light Award to Beverly and Vincent Migliazzo, longtime Flight Path benefactors. The Honorable Mike Bonin, Los Angeles City Council member, also presented a special commendation to the couple.
All proceeds from the gala benefit the museum’s mission of preserving aviation and aerospace heritage and supporting educational programs to encourage youth to pursue careers in the industry. Through increased Flight Path STEM focused outreach programs, the museum serves as a pipeline for future young professionals to enter careers in all areas of the industry.
“We are most grateful to everyone, including our major supporters, who collectively helped make our gala a great success,” said Agnes Huff, PhD, Flight Path Museum board president. “We also owe a major debt of gratitude to the many generous individuals, businesses and organizations who supported us with tables, silent auction and raffle items.

Brett Snyder, the popular “Cranky Flier” blogger, served as emcee, and Robert Acherman, Carly Allen and Heidi Brown were the event co-chairs.
