The Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority honored Kandee Lewis and Positive Results Center (PRC) on September 9.

The recognition occurred at the sorority’s “Community Spotlight: A Celebration of Service” at the Sonesta LAX Hotel.  The event focused on the empowerment women and girls and the appreciation of African American culture.

President Kemba N. Miles said, “The Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter is excited and focused to build on our trailblazing foundation throughout the 2022-2024 biennium, with our theme ‘Torchbearers for Delta: Fortitude, Engagement, Empowerment, and Elevation.’

“In line with the corporate vision of our National President Elsie Cook-Holmes, we are committed to advancing social change, amplifying our global impact, and strengthening our sisterhood.”

Lewis, PRC CEO/president, and her organization were honored for their ongoing efforts on behalf of women and girls.  Describing PRC as a “community torchbearer,” Miles said, “Positive Results Center, and Kandee Lewis are a beacon of light to the Los Angeles community and a valued community partner.

“PRC’s team is made up of certified domestic violence, sexual assault, and suicide awareness prevention advocates who address trauma from a cultural and age perspective. PRC trains youth, parents, BIPOC serving organizations, hosts facilitated events, and creates youth-peer advocacy programs, providing tools and strategies to form and maintain healthy, productive relationships,” she added.
