Continuing in the steps of her mother, Dr. Venus Burton strives to equip others to succeed in the work of the Lord through Saints of Value Ministries.
Her mother, Apostle Vickie Lee, founded S.O.V. in 1997 with the goal of training believers to use their gifts to aid the body of Christ. Since Lee’s passing in 2017, Burton has assumed the leadership of S.O.V., determined to carry on the legacy.
“The vision of Saints of Value is to prepare people who are called to ministry by providing hands-on training and Bible education so they can operate in their calling with a spirit of excellence,” said Burton.
The S.O.V. curriculum contains a range of classes such as How to Know That You are Called, Ministry Made Simple and Gospel Media. Sessions are available both in person and online and can lead to certificates in leadership, evangelism, ministry of helps, minister of music and missionary work. Also, the S.O.V. doctoral program offers degrees in divinity, biblical counseling and Christian leadership.
“Our future goals are to grow and expand with the leading of God’s direction to build God’s Kingdom,” explained Burton. “This includes partnering with Bible Colleges, churches and Christian schools, offering internships through our training program and developing self-care seminars for leaders and ministry workers.”
To achieve her goals, Burton plans to apply the knowledge she gained from working closely with her mother on S.O.V. operations since 2011 as well as utilizing her experiences as a Christian author, playwright and film producer.
“My first book, ‘S.T.U.D. – a Shared Testimony of Unashamed Deliverance,’ is based on my former lifestyle where I realized the dangers of lust. The book paved the way for “S.T.U.D. the Movie,” which I wrote and produced,” Burton said.
The film premiered at Hollywood’s ArcLight Theater in 2016. Currently, Burton is working on her next movie, “Triumphant – She Fights To Win,” which is based on the life of her mother. In addition, she heads the Transformation Women’s Support Group to aid females struggling with identify issues.
Even with her many projects, Burton insisted that her first priority is the Saints of Value ministry. “I will continue to carry out the vision and the legacy of my mother, the late Dr. Vicki Lee,” she said.
“I will trust in our Lord Jesus Christ who holds the future, destiny and purpose to complete the mission in my life. I advise others to focus on the will of God and all that He has for you!”
