The members of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church will host the 2nd Pastoral Anniversary of the Rev. DeNon and First Lady Michelle Porter on Sunday, August 26, at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The celebration services will take place in the church’s edifice at 5300 S. Denker Ave., in Los Angeles. The theme is “Our Pastor: A Man of God Preparing the People of God By Teaching and Preaching the Word of God” based on Ephesians 4:11-12. Brother Edgar and Sister N. Sue Thompson are the co-chairs.
The program participants include Brother Jonathan Verner at 8 a.m., Sister Suzette Mitchell at 11 a.m., and Deacon William Jennings at 4 p.m. Also, Pastor Terrance Phillips of Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest preacher at 4 p.m.
Also, on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m., the Sanctuary Choir will hold its 68th annual musical directed by Anthony C. Jones. The theme is “Talk It Over With Jesus” based Deuteronomy 5:24 and Matthew 21:22.
