St. Luke’s Task Force, the Health Ministry of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, will present its 1st Street Health Fair on Saturday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will take place at Warren Chapel CME Church, 1039 Elberon Ave., in San Pedro. The Rev. Adam Stevenson is the host pastor. The theme is “The Power of Unity” based on Romans 12:4-5.

“We are asking all members of the San Pedro and greater L.A. community – Christians and non-Christians – to come together in unity at our street fair. Bring, your co-workers, congregants, family and friends for a time of health education, family, faith, and fun,” said Dr. Vanilla Brooks, coordinator.

“There will be health education speakers, mammograms, blood pressure screenings, BMI calculations, music, praise dancing, prizes, line dancing, and prayer.”

Several health care individuals and organizations will participate including Harbor Occupational Center, Toberman Neighborhood Center, Inner Imaging Mammograms, Professional Foot and Ankle Center, Stella Health Insurance, Wilmington Urgent Care and Family Clinic, St. Mary’s Medical Center Breast Imaging, Joint Efforts, Esperanza Romero, Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles, Project Return Support Network, L.A. County Mental Health MH Promoters, Women’s Domestic Violence, San Pedro Mental Health, Project Return Peer Support Network, LA Care, Synsus and The Beacon House.

Also scheduled are the Warren Chapel Praise Team, Congresswoman Nanette Barragan, Haley-Clark Dance Company, Mount Sinai Praise Dance Ministry, Cecil Hart and Jane Reese Insurance Services, Dr. Parvaneh Delbakhsh, pediatrician; Nivia Van Damme, LCSW, South Bay Human Services Director of Behavioral Health; Patricia Bondon, LVN, esthetician of Patricia’s Skin Care; Terri Dyer, MSN, Ambulatory Care Practice Leader; Myrtle Krushall, Registered Nurse Practitioner; Marcela Lemus, Veronica Martin, Ray Thomas, the Rev.
