The WNBA announced that the league has entered its first collective bargaining agreement with the National Basketball Referees Association, which is the union representing the WNBA referees. The two-year agreement begins with the 2017 season.

“We commend our officials for their hard work and dedication to the game and are very pleased to have reached an agreement,” said WNBA President Lisa Borders. “We now look forward to continuing to deliver the best basketball in the world to our fans as our 21st season tips off on May 13.”
