The Los Angeles Sparks selected center Saicha Grant-Allen 35th overall in the 3rd round of the 2017 WNBA Draft, announced Executive Vice President and General Manager, Penny Toler.
“Saicha is a strong and physical post player that has improved every season,” said Penny Toler, LA Sparks Executive Vice President and General Manager. “She is excellent on the boards at both ends of the court.”
The 6-foot-5 center averaged 9.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game during her senior season at Dayton and set a program record for career offensive rebounds (264). She also picked up A-10 All-Tournament accolades, was named A-10 Player of the week and named to the Florida Sunshine Classic and Cavalier Class All-Tournament teams.
“Saicha is an extremely active and mobile post player that can rebound and defend,” said Brian Agler, LA Sparks Head Coach. “She had a great career at the University of Dayton where she played in multiple NCAA tournaments.”
