West Angeles Church of God in Christ is issuing a call to former and current parishioners to attend their “Homecoming” worship services on Sunday, July 16.

Banners featuring COGIC Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, senior pastor, and First Lady Mae Blake are strung along Crenshaw Blvd., inviting the community to attend services at West Angeles Cathedral, 3600 S. Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles.

“This will be a day for WestA members, past and present, to have the opportunity to come back home to worship together, to be blessed and to be a blessing,” said a spokesperson.

The guest preachers will be Superintendent Michael Henderson at 8 a.m. and Dr. Benjamin Stephens, president of the International Youth Department for the Church of God in Christ, at 11 a.m. Following the 11 a.m. service, the “Picnic on the Plaza” will be held. At 7 p.m., West Angeles choirs will unite for a concert.

Upcoming events at West Angeles include an Evangelism Conference starting Wednesday, July 19, through Saturday, July 22, and a Substance Abuse Revival set for Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28 at 7 p.m. Both events will be held at the North Campus, 3045 S. Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles.
