REPARATIONS COMMISSION  TO HOST VIRTUAL EVENT 

The city’s seven-member Reparations Advisory Commission will host a public meeting this Thursday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m. “Homecoming,” a virtual event, calls together Black Angelenos to share their stories of systemic racism and learn about the reparations pilot program to be developed in the city. Mayor Eric Garcetti first announced the creation of the Commission, which is a part of the LA Civil Rights Department, in 2021.

West Angeles COGIC Plans ‘Homecoming’

West Angeles Church of God in Christ is issuing a call to former and current parishioners to attend their “Homecoming” worship services on Sunday, July 16. Banners featuring COGIC Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, senior pastor, and First Lady Mae Blake are strung along Crenshaw Blvd., inviting the community to attend services at West Angeles Cathedral, 3600 S.
