The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents the return of The Reverend Shawn Amos for A Night in Harlem on Friday, February 1 at 8:00pm. In celebration of African American History Month, blackbox curator, Amos, returns to the stage for an evening of songs and storytelling — presenting songs from his album, Harlem, for the first time in ten years. The American roots song cycle tells the story of 1920s black Americans’ migration from the south to Harlem. Amos’ album was inspired by the artists, songs and legacy of the Harlem Renaissance.

  WE tv hosted an exclusive event celebrating the premiere of “Hip Hop Thursdays,” the network’s new weekly programming lineup consisting of Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition and the return of hit series Growing Up Hip Hop. Influencers, media and celebrities joined cast members from both shows in commemorating the kick-off. DJ Kiss provided the entertainment for the evening, much to the delight of guests who partied and danced all night while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Celebrities and influencers in attendance included: Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition cast members Waka Flocka, Tammy Rivera, Lil Twist, Lil Mo, Karl Dargan, Lil Fizz, Jessica Dime, Soulja Boy, Nia Riley, Tiffany Campbell, Dr. Ish Major and Dr. Venus Nicolino, Growing Up Hip Hop cast

While the media made much of the fact that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reopened Moore’s death as a homicide investigation, had they followed up they would have learned that it was mostly to save face after Moore’s journal had been published and made national news.  The “investigation” consisted of the Sheriff’s Department relying on me and Gemmel Moore’s family attorney Nana Gyamfi to provide them with evidence, witnesses they could interview–witnesses that we fought and won immunity for in order for them to give statements to police that they didn’t trust in the first place—oh–and one flyer asking for more information about the death of Gemmel posted at Buck’s frequented haunts in West Hollywood.
