Washington Prep senior Freeman Hopkins always prioritizes the needs of the team, whether it be in football or basketball. He helped the Generals boy’s basketball team win the City Section Division I title and the football team reach the City Section Division III championship game.
Hamilton junior Brooklyn Harris has been excelling in both basketball and track and field. She is the reigning CIF City Section champion in the 400m and has also helped the Yankees girl’s basketball team be Open Division contenders.
Senior Zoie Dupree plays volleyball for the Inglewood Sentinels. She also competed for the club team the South Central Starlings. Along with sharpening her techniques in the sport, she also learned key lessons in leadership. She was a captain and the head coach of her club volleyball team.
Palos Verdes Peninsula junior Alysa Davis is a veteran golfer who helped her high school golf team reach the CIF Southern Section Regional playoffs this past season.
Senior De’Marion Brown helped the Jordan Bulldogs earn their first CIF City Section Championship since 1980. He plays a variety of positions with the Bulldogs, including wide receiver, cornerback, linebacker, and quarterback.
Crenshaw senior quarterback Donce’ Lewis helped lead the Cougars football team to the CIF City Section Championship for two consecutive seasons. During his junior year, he helped the Cougars win the City Section title.
Throughout her formative years, King/Drew sophomore Lyric Stevens had been too shy to show off her talents or to try something new. This school year, it all changed when she decided to play on the Golden Eagles girl’s Flag Football team.
Washington Prep senior quarterback Sesame Mixson led the Generals to an appearance in the CIF City Section Division III Championship game. The Generals ended the season with a 5-9 overall record and a 1-4 Coliseum League record.
Hawkins senior Amahgee Kegler used his talent and leadership skills to make the Hawks football team a contender in the Metro League. His abilities at the running back position helped the Hawks earn a 5-5 overall record and a 3-1 Metro League record.
Dorsey senior Amirykal Hamilton is a member of the Donnas flag football team. Attending Dorsey is a family tradition for Hamilton as she had over 15 family members attend the school, and it motivated her to leave her mark on the campus.
Redondo Union sophomore Justin Wright started playing golf during the COVID-19 Pandemic. His passion for the sport grew as his skills improved.
Jordan Bulldogs junior David Sandy is a quarterback for the football team and captain of the boys’ volleyball team. While being a leader in athletics, he is a prominent contributor to the student body at Jordan High School.
Dorsey freshman Deonna Brown is an inaugural member of the Donnas flag football team and is elated to be a part of a new chapter in Dorsey sports.
Senior Devin Brown is a captain of the Crenshaw girls flag football team. She has been with the team since they were with the League of Champions that was created by the L.A. Rams and Chargers.
