The 29th Annual Black Writers On Tour, Business & Tech Expo, will be held on Saturday, April 26, at the Carson Community Center, at 801 East Carson Street in Carson, from 10 a.m., to 3 p.m.. Admission and parking are free.

This year’s theme is “Literacy and Empowering Black-Owned Businesses to Thrive – Not Just Survive – Is Everybody’s Business.”  The keynote speaker will be Dr. Bill Releford, founder of Bloom Ranch in Acton, the largest Black-owned farm in Los Angeles County.

According to organizers, Releford’s visionary approach to holistic health and medicine is exemplified through Bloom Ranch, which spans 250 acres and provides fresh produce while serving as a gathering place to promote health empowerment. A trailblazing physician, author, AI Patent holder, and founder of Black Limbs Matter, Releford founded the Foot & Ankle Institute.

“Dr. Releford models our theme. He is a sterling example of how to thrive in new business paradigms as opposed to just survive,” said Dr. Rosie Milligan, the founder of BWOT.

“We’re honored by his sponsorship and willingness to share insights in one of our four forums.”  Releford has been a featured speaker in local and national news for creating a sustainable model of healthy eating, added Dr. Rosie.

“Dr. Rosie is like a vibrant drum, a dedicated teacher, communicator, and an enthusiastic advocate for health, literacy, technology, and business,” shared Dr. Releford.

“I’m excited to be a part of Black Writers On Tour because I truly believe that everything starts with information and literature – whether fiction or nonfiction – helps us keep that information alive!”

BWOT allows authors and aspiring writers to engage and is highly informative for aspiring writers. There will be writer’s workshops throughout the day that will cover a variety of topics, including: “How To Write, Publish and Sell Your Book Made Simple,” “Everything You Need To Know About Social Media Marketing With AI Tools,” “Protecting Your Writing Rights, Trademark and Patent Right,” “Take Your Story To The Stage: Become a Professional Speaker,” “How To Develop Characters That Leap Off The Page,” a your writers competition, and more.
