Dorsey Falls to Orthopaedic in Playoffs

The contending season of the Dorsey softball team came to an end on Thursday when they lost 19-4 to the Orthopaedic Vipers in the first round of the Division III City Section Playoffs. The Donnas end their season with an 8-2 overall record.

Dodgers Foundation Host Drive Thru to Help RBI Players

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) is aiding the families of their Dodgers RBI baseball and softball players by hosting a Dodgers Day Drive-Thru presented by ARCO. Saturday marked the first of five Drive-Thrus where registered Dodgers RBI players are given food, resources and treats while social distancing.

“I don’t know why everyone is stressing, we are going to win this game,” UCLA sophomore Kinsley Washington continued to reassure her teammates during game two of the Women’s Softball World Series (WSWS). The Bruins were battling against the Oklahoma Sooners for the national title and had defeated them 16-3 in game one of the three-game series.  

Baldwin Hills Champions Train Young Sluggers

The Baldwin Hills Champions baseball program has seen success recently. Their 10U and 13U baseball teams along with their 9U softball team won the City Championship. The Champions are a Parks and Recreation team who battle teams from Peck Park, Van Ness Park, and Rancho Cienega Park among others. Andre Green is the head coach of the Baldwin Hills Champions and has been coaching baseball for 46 years throughout the Los Angeles area. View Park Softball To Battle in Division I Playoffs

May 9 marks the fourth consecutive year that the View Park Knights softball team reached the playoffs. This season presents a new challenge to the program as they were upgraded to division I competition. View Park finished their season with a contending 11-4 overall record and a 10-0 Coliseum League record.
