Over three decades ago I became a mother for the first time to an amazing daughter, Courtney Sabra Marie Gladney is her name. I have always been a family person, but I was unaware and unprepared for the accountabilities and responsibilities of motherhood.

Black Business Association Announces Maxine Waters to receive Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award

In recognition of National Women’s History Month, the Black Business Association (BBA), one of the oldest active ethnic business organizations in the nation, will host its 2016 Salute to Black Women Business Conference, Vendor Faire and Awards Luncheon on Saturday, March 19, at The L.A. Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, in collaboration with the National Women’s History Project’s (NWHP) whose 2016 theme is, “Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service and Government.” The “Salute to Black Women” is the BBA’s annual commemoration of the achievements of African American women.
