Dayton Ohio Ku Klux Klan Rally Highly Out Numbered

The Ku Klux Klan rally planned today in Dayton, Ohio drew less than a dozen Ku Klux Klan members. The racist group was penned in by fencing, surrounded by police and drowned out by hundreds of counter- protesters. The city of Dayton blocked streets with large trucks Saturday and brought in officers from other jurisdictions to keep protesters separated from members of an obscure Klan group called the Honorable Sacred Knights. The group obtained a permit for the rally months ago. City officials and community leaders organized an effort called Dayton United Against Hate. The NAACP and other groups gathered

Our Democracy is on the Line, Congress Must Act Now

Barr’s lack of independence and Trump’s obstruction raises critical questions about the rule of law. But this is also about the integrity and security of our democracy. Just as important in the Mueller report was the astounding disclosure that our country was subjected to a full-scale attack on our democratic process.

NAACP’S Response to the Arrest of Suspect in the Louisiana Church Burnings

BALTIMORE – The NAACP issued the following statement regarding the arrest of Holden Matthews in connection to fires at three historically Black churches in Louisiana: “The arrest of Holden Matthews for the horrific burnings of Black churches in Louisiana is just another example of the hate-fueled times that we live in. In African-American communities in the South, church burnings are historically linked to expressions of racism and domestic terrorism. This is the same domestic terrorism that has been the hammer and chisel used to chip away at the humanity of Black Americans and the suppression of our political power. Since Trump

NABJ’s Call for Diversity at CNN Grows

“When there’s more of us in the room fighting for our stories to be told, and raising awareness about the issues impacting our communities, we have an even better chance of creating change and ending the practices that unfairly hold us back,” said Color of Change in a statement released on Twitter.

NAACP Joins NABJ in Criticism of CNN’s Lack of Diversity in Leadership Positions

NAACP finds is offensive that CNN President Jeff Zucker refuses to address this issue. We are far beyond the point of accepting simple visibility as an instance of true diversity. For major corporations like CNN and its parent company, WarnerMedia, diversifying the media landscape must become a part of a company’s corporate responsibility rather than always as a response to intolerance and implicit bias.
