Correction: National Bar Association Support of Andre Mathis’

In the January 20 issue, the L.A. Sentinel featured a story affirming the support of the President Carlos Moore and National Bar Association (NBA) for the U.S. President Joe Biden’s nomination of attorney Andre B. Mathis as a judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  Unfortunately, the photos of Mr. Moore and Mr. Mathis were misidentified.  Above are the correct identifications. We apologize for the error.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Celebrates 111 Years of Achievement

Since January 5, 1911, the noble men of Kappa Alpha Psi, Incorporated have celebrated its motto of “achievement,” dating back to its founders, Elder Watson Diggs, Dr. Ezra D. Alexander, Dr. Byron Kenneth Armstrong, Atty. Henry Tourner Asher, Dr. Marcus Peter Blakemore, Paul Waymond Caine, George Wesley Edmonds, Dr. Guy Levis Grant, Edward Giles Irvin, and Sgt. John Milton Lee. 

Bella Luxe Loft Boutique Gathers Black Women in Elegance, Style, and Commerce

The Little Black Dress (LBD) affair was held at the Bella Luxe Loft on Center Drive, in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 11.  The Los Angeles Sentinel’s photojournalist, E. Mesiyah McGinnis, attended the illustrious boutique affair, a gathering of beautiful Black women in elegance, style, camaraderie, and commerce.  We asked the host, Barbara Mitchell-Goods her thoughts on the event and its importance in the Black community.
