Nipsey Hussle’s Killer Sentenced to 60 years to Life in Prison

The man convicted of gunning down beloved rapper Nipsey Hussle was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke sentenced Eric R. Holder Jr., 33, after hearing from one of Hussle’s friends and listening to a letter from Holder’s father.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The man charged with killing rapper Nipsey Hussle was ordered held on $5 million bail after pleading not guilty Thursday to murder and attempted murder charges. Eric R. Holder Jr., 29, making his first court appearance after Sunday’s shooting and subsequent two-day manhunt, spoke only to say “yeah” to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Teresa Sullivan’s questions. His attorney, Christopher Darden who is privately by Holders family, did not dispute the bail amount, which the prosecution requested. Darden declined comment after the hearing. The murder of Nipsey Hussle is personal. It is personal to me. It is personal to a generation in looking at social media and news interviews, there was a clear message that his death was felt deeply and hurt immensely, and particularly for anyone who came into contact with him, no matter how brief the interaction.
