Dorsey senior linebacker D’Mar Johnson realizes how the lessons learned during a game can last long after the regulated minutes run out. Jazz Series Honors Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson

Parkside EDC will present an evening of the music of Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson on June 27 as part of its Jazz Cool Down series in Leimert Park. The series, held at LA Third Church, benefits college scholarships for students from Dorsey and Crenshaw High Schools and features LA jazz luminaries such as Barbara Morrison, Ernie Watts and Roy Gaines.

Dorsey Baseball and Softball Find Wins at Home

The Dorsey Dons softball team finished their season on a high note by defeating the Manual Arts Toilers 13-3 during their senior night game. For baseball, the Dons continue to pace the Coliseum League as of Monday, defeating the Locke Saints 6-3.

Dorsey HS Launches Local ‘March For Our Lives’ Chapter

Both Bradford and Bass will continue working together to help the students at Dorsey High School connect with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students in Parkland, Fl. To continue their efforts, the group has plans to work with the Los Angeles School Police Association to organize a student exchange journey with the high school founders of the March For Our Lives and the #NeverAgain movements.
