NBA’s Playoff Game Boycotts Sparks Domino Effect Across Major League Sports Amidst Jacob Blake Shooting

The Milwaukee Bucks took a historic stand by electing not to play in the scheduled Wednesday Game 5 of the NBA Playoff series versus the Orlando Magic to boycott police brutality and specifically boycott the treatment of Jacob S. Blake, a 29-year-old American Black man who was shot in the back seven times by a Kenosha police officer that left him paralyzed earlier on Sunday.

San Antonio’s Demar Derozan Fined

San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan has been fined $25,000 for recklessly throwing the basketball toward a game official and into the spectator stands, it was announced Sunday by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. The incident, for which DeRozan was assessed one technical foul and ejected, occurred with 5:01 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Spurs’ 117-103 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, April 20 at AT&T Center. Los Angeles improves to 7-1 at home; Victorious over Spurs

The Los Angeles Clippers are quickly becoming one of the most underrated teams in the NBA and have now improved to 7-1 at home. Lou Williams poured in 23 points off the bench, Danilo Gallinari and Tobias Harris added 19 and 18 points respectively, to give the Clippers (9-5) a 116-111 victory over the San Antonio Spurs (7-7) Thursday night at Staples Center.
