April 9th brought the illustrious grand opening of the Rhimes Performing Arts Center (RPAC) by the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA).
Former ballerina, Judy Tyrus, visited Los Angeles to promote her book, “DANCE THEATRE OF HARLEM: A HISTORY, A MOVEMENT, A CELEBRATION,” a book co-written by dancers, Tyrus and Paul Novosel, two longtime members of the dance company.
The work of Debbie Allen has reached multiple generations, molding eras and fashions that continuously take on a new form. Allen joins the list of honorees that have been tapped for unprecedented work in their lifetime.

Apr. 8-12 The Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA) presents the annual ‘DADA On Pointe’ Ballet Intensive April 8th – April 12th, 2017. This year, featured guest artists include Lauren Anderson, former principal of the Houston Ballet, and Dusty Button, a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet. Intermediate to advanced students ages 8 to 25 with at least three years of Classical Ballet training are invited to register.
