Playing Varsity for the Crenshaw Cougars boys basketball team (14-11 overall, 5-4 Coliseum League) is a new experience for several players. The team made up of almost entirely new talent with one returning player and a transfer student with Varsity experience. Crenshaw Girls Basketball Learns Through Experience in Tournaments

The Crenshaw Girls Basketball team (7-9 overall, 2-0 Coliseum League) is in Division II, along with Jefferson, Hamilton and Dorsey high schools. Six players have returned to the program from the past season. Last year, the Cougars earned the eighth seed in the 2015 Los Angeles City Section Division I Playoffs. However, they lost to Van Nuys 42-48 in the first round. This is the Cougars’ second season with head coach Valerie Agee. Narbonne Ousted Crenshaw in Division 1 City Section Title

The Crenshaw Cougars (9-5) could not surpass the Narbonne Gauchos (12-2) in the Division I city section title bout. The gauchos beat the cougars 57-21. Although Crenshaw had moments of sound defense, the Narbonne offense completed key passes that led to touchdowns. Crenshaw came into the game outnumbered; their 37-member squad went up against Narbonne’s 81 members, according to Max Preps. The gauchos were the first to score a touchdown early in the 1st quarter. Crenshaw Crushes Arleta, Faces Narbonne for City Title

The Crenshaw Cougars defeated the Arleta Mustangs 26-17, advancing the Cougars to the division I city championship game against Narbonne High school. This was the lowest scoring playoff game for the Cougars this postseason. Crenshaw scored 54 points in their first and second round games, according to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Arleta had gone undefeated this season, upsetting the 2nd seeded Birmingham in the quarterfinals.
