“God so loves the world that He is forever meeting us in every crisis after crisis.” Generation after generation we appear to commit suicide. We can be at death’s door, but right there He meets us…ready and willing to straighten us out if we will come to Him in humility and submission and confession. That’s how a loving father meets us. This is worthy of solemn thought and meditation. Move our minds away from “self” outwards to what can we each do for outreach healing? I have mentioned “idolatry,” because it has and is running rampant in our society and throughout the universe. Here is a good definition of “idolatry:” It is worshipping stuff, things, thoughts which precede, dominate and override the care and attention of Godly worship and justice. “It is anything which usurps God’s place in the heart. It may, in itself, be a sinful thing; or a questionable thing, a seemingly innocent thing, or even a sacred thing—but if it takes first place and God is given a secondary place in the heart—it is an idol.” [From the Creation of the Angels to The New Jerusalem.Alfred Eade] How do we correct ourselves? First there must be confrontation with the self and recognition that our thoughts have moved away from the Lord. There must be a willingness to confront our God implanted innermost faculty, “the conscience” and be ready for internal war battling the flesh with with that of moral conscience. There has to be some questioning in the deep conscience and a battle waged internally. Are you ready for this awakening? Are you prepared to pierce the veil of your heart and bring it to exposure of what you are doing? When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He said, “Father, if it be thy will let this cup pass from me, but nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done.” That’s where the rubber meets the road, where the sandpaper is scratched deeply and rubs the heart. Understand, Jesus knew what His ordained mission was; but, He had been and was obedient to the mission which “the Father” had given to Him. He accepted it clearly and voluntarily. We may be asking ourselves questions. For example, “Why this coronavirus?” During ancient biblical times there were famines, pestilences and judgements resulting from laden sins and trespasses. Only God can allow these catastrophes to come upon us. The adversary can do no more or less than what God allows. Prayer to Jesus Christ, our rescuer is our  resource and our resort. Coupled with prayere there must be a spilling of the conscience and declaration of what is our wrongdoing for these things to come upon us and be delivered from them. Look around at the murders, sicknesses, violence, discontent, distress and whatever. Every one of us needs to fall down and keep on falling down prostrating ourselves before the Holy God in confession and repentance. You see that is the problem. Many want to be their own God, just like Adam and Eve. It didn’t work then and it’s not going to work now. There is still hope for us and our nation, at least that our time may be extended. The United States is in crisis. Cities and States are in crisis. That is what we need to do to overcome. Repent. Beg for forgiveness and mean it. Thanks for reading!
