CHICAGO, IL. – Moderated by nationally syndicated journalist George Curry, Reverend Al Sharpton and Dr. Cornel West came together in Chicago to discuss “Blacks in the Age of President of Obama.”  The discussion was a part of the annual conference of National Newspaper Publishers Association and Black Press of America held in Chicago at the historic Drake Hotel on Friday, June 24.

The National Newspaper Publishers Association, also known as the Black Press of America, is a 69-year-old federation of more than 200 Black newspapers and their publishers in the U.S. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Association focuses on the major issues that affect today’s Black newspaper publishing industry: public policy/legal matters, advertising revenue growth and audience development.
