Rev. Emma Burrus
The Rev. Emma Burrus will be the guest speaker on Annual Missionary Day set for Sunday, March 11, at Hays Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, 10121 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles.
“We invite greater Los Angeles community to join us as we salute our dedicated Missionaries who commit their time and talents to serving both locally and abroad,” said Pastor Julio A. Andujo.
“Also, Rev. Burrus is a dynamic preacher who delivers the word of God with power and will encourage you in your walk with the Lord.”
Currently, the Rev. Burrus is an associate minister at Warren Chapel C.M.E. Church led by Pastor Oliver E. Buie. She also serves as assistant church secretary and as secretary of the Southern California Region Annual Conference.
Prior to her call to the ministry, she worked in various capacities at Warren Chapel including Trustee, Church Treasurer, Missionary President, and Choir President.
In addition, the Rev. Burrus worked 23 years at Martin Marietta Manned Space System as a materiel requirements analyst and is currently employed by the Los Angeles Police Department as acting senior detention officer.
Her memberships include the Retirement Housing Foundation Board of Directors and the Los Angeles Women Police Officers Association.
