First United Methodist Church of Compton celebrates its 150th anniversary on April 29, at 3 p.m., at 1025 S. Long Beach Blvd., in Compton, said the Rev. Dr. Arnetha Inge, pastor. The theme is “150 years of Praising God in Every Place, With Every Voice and in  Every Way” based on Psalm 150. The guest preacher will be Pastor Walter   R. Tucker III of Truth and Love Christian Church, a former mayor of Compton and U.S. Congressman.
