Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. – On Christmas Eve brunch goers at president-elect Donald Trump’s Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes were treated to Christmas carols with a message sung by members of Black Lives Matter Los Angeles.

Over 60 members of Black Lives Matters Los Angeles including founder Patrisse Cullors  and Dr. Melina Abdullah, convened in Rancho Palos Verdes at the Trump National Golf Club for a Black Brunch protest.  Without any objection from staff members, Black Lives Matters activists walked into the posh golf club’s restaurant past the maître d and began singing what they call “conscious Christmas carols” before a stunned audience of mainly whites.

While initially shocked, many dining in the restaurant where brunch prices are $80 per adult and oftentimes require a reservation, applauded the activists who were able to sing four songs through to completion before leaving.  One diner tried unsuccessfully to stop the activists.

Sung to the tune of “The Christmas Song,” activists caroled “Trump’s Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire” by Fiona Apple which included the lyrics:

“Trump’s nuts roasting on an open fire

As he keeps nipping at his foes,

You’ll cry ‘creepy uncle’ every time he arrives

For he keeps clawing at your clothes

Everybody knows that money and entitlement can help to make the season white

Mothers of color with their kids out of sight will find it hard to sleep at night”

Other songs sung included “Deck the Streets” (Deck the Halls) and “Hark! The Fighting People Sing” (“Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”).

After the Black Brunch protesters stayed outside of the golf course with signs protesting the incoming president for his stated views on women and minorities.  Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene but did not come into the restaurant to ask the activist to leave and no arrests were made.

There has been no response to the protest from president-elect Donald Trump.
