Local churches and ministries throughout the Southland will host several activities to observe Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
People’s Independent Church of Christ will sponsor three events during the holiday season. All activities will take place on the church’s campus at 5856 West Blvd., in Los Angeles.
According to Bishop Craig A. Worsham, senior pastor, the Willa Dooley Missionary Society will conduct their annual distribution to the homeless on Friday, Dec. 23. Hot meals, blankets and toiletries for more than 150 persons will be shared.
One service will be held at 8 a.m., on Christmas Sunday, Dec. 25. The New Year’s Eve worship is set for Saturday, Dec. 31, at 12 p.m. On New Year’s Day, Sunday, Jan. 1, one service and Holy Communion will be held at 11 a.m. Bishop Worsham will deliver the message at all services.

Zoe Christian Fellowship of L.A. (ZCFLA) will have one service only on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, announced Bishop Frank Stewart, pastor.
The Christmas Day worship, set for Sunday, Dec. 25 at 9:30 a.m., will feature the ZCFLA Holiday Choir, the Praise in Motion Dance Ministry and a drama presentation entitled “The Seed,” a Christmas tale of when service and selfishness collide. On January 1, New Year’s Day, at 9:30 a.m., a candle light service will be held.
Bishop Stewart will preach a special message at both services.

Dr. Jynona Norwood of Faith I AM Center will resume broadcasting on the Word Network every Friday at 12 a.m., starting Dec. 23. The program will air online as well at wordnetwork.org.
Faith I AM will hold one service on Sunday, Dec. 25, at 645 West Arbor Vitae Street in Inglewood. The “Prophetic Glory Christmas Morning Celebration” will be held at 11:45 a.m. The service will include toys and frankincense and myrrh gifts sets distributed to all attendees.
The “Prophetic New Year’s Eve Service” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 10 p.m. The guests include Psalmist Alice Houston, Evangelist Carolyn Middlebrook, Sister Louise Armstrong and Sister Catherine Mazzuca. Also, a complimentary breakfast will be served.
Norwood gave turkey and chicken food baskets and toys to community members at the “Shaq Gives Back” event on Dec. 21. Shaquille O’Neal donated celebrity memorabilia and First Friday’s Don Derbigny, Roland Wirt, Marc Gaspard and Kevin Rouse contributed toys and food baskets.

Price Chapel AME Church will bring in the new year with a “Watch Night Gospel Brunch” on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 11 p.m., at 4000 West Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles, said Pastor Benjamin Hollins.
“We invite everyone to bring in 2017 at Price Chapel. After praise and worship, we’ll follow with an evening gospel brunch with music and food to bring in our New Year,” said Hollins.
