The Department of Women of Southern California First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis, Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women and Assistant General Supervisor of Women of the Church of God in Christ, will sponsor its Annual Community Outreach Day on Saturday, December 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Hale Morris Lewis Manor, 1307 West 105th Street in Los Angeles.
Since 2003, hundreds of volunteers have served and ministered to thousands of individuals of all ages who reside in South L.A. This year, volunteers will provide a host of services as well as spiritual enrichment including free groceries and clothing, mental and general health information, free toys and school supplies, free legal aid information, free child identification cards provided through New York Life, foster Care/adoption information through the Department of Children and Family Services, senior Care information, hygiene kits, health screenings conducted by licensed professionals and “soul care” through evangelism and ministry.
Mrs. Barbara Heard is the Annual Community Outreach Day Coordinator. This event is open to individuals in need of assistance as the Department of Women’s mission is to develop individuals who will effect better homes, better schools, better communities and a better world, said a spokesperson.
