Crenshaw Health Partners, in collaboration with Pastor Benjamin Hollins and Price Chapel AME Church, will host a reception for elected officials, community and church leaders on November 13, at 11:30 a.m., at the church’s Covered California enrollment center located at 4000 W. Slauson Ave. in Los Angeles.
The event will offer information on the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which began open enrollment on November 1. Clergy and leaders in the African American community are encouraging eligible individuals and families to enroll in a health care plan. Attendees will learn how to help the uninsured obtain health care coverage.
Covered California’s Executive Director, Peter V. Lee, will also attend the event to answer questions and share how most consumers can keep any rate increases under 5 percent, how most enrollees are getting thousands of dollars to help lower their monthly premiums, and talk about areas where benefits and coverage are expanding for 2017.
“Price Chapel AME and Crenshaw Health Partners enrollment centers are playing a critical role in helping African Americans in Los Angeles enroll in quality, name-brand health coverage that’s affordable,” said a spokesperson.
