On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. She had no idea that her decision would change the course of history.
Thomas Edison never thought of himself as innovative. He was just a hard-working man who had no idea that playing with wires in his workshop would one day make possible the development of electricity.
Martin Luther King had no idea that one day his name would be respected around the world as a human rights icon. Similarly, you have no idea what God can do through you if you don’t work the gift in you.
There are so many new possibilities God wants to bring your way. Are you willing to imagine the possibilities? If not, nothing will happen. I’ve learned that when God inspires and stretches your imagination, you begin to think bigger than you’ve ever thought before. You begin to enlarge your ability to believe God for the impossible.
So what if the bank denied the loan? So what if your best friend doesn’t agree with you? So what if you don’t make enough money? So what if the devil told you the vision would never come to pass? Here’s a sobering wakeup call: “…but, with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
God is the source of all resources. He can do more, do better and go further than anything we can ask or think. I’m convinced that if you need something and it does not exist, it’s not an issue for God. God can create it ex nihilo. Ex nihilo means out of nothing, God can create your something and give you exactly what you need.
God, the Creator of all things visible and invisible, has planted an idea in you that He wants you to pursue and bring forth. So, I charge you today, to go after your dreams. It’s time for you to reach the height of your God-given potential.
You might think that you simply don’t have the raw talent, drive or determination it takes to get the job done. Maybe you think you’re not smart enough, creative enough, or attractive enough to be fruitful. So what!
I’ve been told all of my life that I have a flat nose, but I didn’t let it stop me from becoming a singer, writer, motivational speaker, mentor and a career woman to say the least. I get a kick out of autographing my book for people who talked about my nose (lol).
What’s my point? You have no idea what God can do with you, in you, and through you until you go after the idea He’s planted in you. You have no idea how you can rise, how far you can go, how much you can achieve. And again, you will never know, if you don’t step out on faith.
In honor of Black History Month, I challenge you to reach your full potential in God. You have the power to transform what was once just a dream, into a reality, and make a mark in history.
