With a multitude of hits and collaborations, Missy Elliot returns with new music, “WTF” (Where They From) featuring Pharrell Williams and graces the cover of Billboard Magazine. Elliott, who performed at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show with Katy Perry, is working on her seventh studio album. On taking her time to release new music, “I have to be very careful,” she says. “It’s different now. People are quick to be like, ‘You’re irrelevant, you’re a flop, you’re washed up,” reports eurweb.com. She will record her album with Pharrell and Timbaland, “the only two producers that understand me,” she stated. The iconic singer and rapper bursted on the scene in the 1990s with producer Timbaland creating her debut album Supa Dupa Fly (1997) with singles, “The Rain” and “Sock It To Me” featuring Da Brat. She dropped Miss E… So Addictive in 2001 with classic hit “Get Ur Freak On.” The following year she released her fourth studio album Under Construction with popular single “Work It.” On today’s female emcees climbing the charts, “It was me, Lil’ Kim, Lauryn Hill, Eve, Foxy Brown, Trina,” she says. “There’s room for so many. She has released two new singles “ Player” featuring Chris Brown and “Party Favors” featuring Young Thug. “I’ve always kinda wanted to do a song with Chris,” reports rap-up.com. “Obviously, he’s one of the best entertainers of our generation. It’s just exciting to be able to work with him,” she said. She released “Party Favors” featuring Young Thug in September. On working with Canadian hip-hop producer Boi-1da for “Party Favors,” “there was so much energy in the room, and everybody thought it was so much fun. Those are always really special moments: when everyone in the studio can tell that you’re coming up with something really special.” On her new album, “I’m really excited, the second album is a big deal,” told Jezebel.com. “It represents a snapshot of where I am in my life. This year I spent a lot of time traveling the world, going to places I’d never been, seeing new people and cultures and that influenced my music with new inspiration.
