From Sept. 22-24, the Leimert Park Village will host the Reimagine’s Loss, Life, & Love festival.
On Sept. 24, a six-hour concert will feature a multigenerational line-up of musicians performing on the People Street Stage. The festival also features community events & workshops, art-making, an art installation and more.
Attendees (live or online) will experience different “sets” with music that connects to those who have come before as well as weaving a tapestry that brings together themes of loss, life, and love through song. Kenneth Crouch paying tribute to his late uncle, the gospel legend Andraé Crouch.
Four generations of jazz in Leimert Park will be presented, ranging from drumming legend Billy Higgins to Terrace Martin, who will be joined by Harold “Stemsy” Hunter.
Stemsy performed regularly with Higgins and was the co-founder of The World Stage. This will mark his return to performing in Leimert Park after almost two decades.
The House of Vibe Allstars Collective, led by Anthony “Brew” Brewster, will feature Supernatural MC, Medusa, I.Khan, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Phillip “Fish” Fisher, and Blvk H3ro. The Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center Band will play with the musicians, as ensemble members.
