The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped 1.6 cents today to $3.494 – its lowest amount since March 22 of last year.
The average price has dropped nine consecutive days. It is 5.1 cents less than one week ago and 8.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 13.5 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price dropped 1.8 cents to $3.45 — also its lowest amount since March 22. It has dropped 14 consecutive days, decreasing 6.9 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday.
The Orange County average price is 5 cents less than one week ago and 6.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 13.6 cents more than one year ago.
Analysts say demand for oil and gas is dropping due to the coronavirus outbreak.
