The National Panhellenic Council, LA Foundation (NPHCLA) presents the art work of award-winning fine artist, Kathleen Atkins Wilson to kick-off Black History Month in style at this elegant fundraising event. February 1, 2020 beginning at 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm located at 4006 Punta Alta Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90008. The artist’s studio and gallery are nestled atop Baldwin Vista Estates overlooking the majestic city center of Los Angeles.
Limited edition lithographs and original works by artist Kathleen Atkins Wilson will be available for purchase. Her artistry speaks the universal language of brotherhood and sisterhood of the African Diaspora community. It is a revealing and inspiring language which shouts her joy in creating beauty, love and pride in her African and African American heritage. This is why the NPHCLA has chosen her art to present as our 2020 fundraising benefit art show. In NPHCLA endeavors to promote community awareness and action through educational, economic and cultural service activities, they can think of no greater cause than to support the arts. Through your generous purchase, they can touch the soul of our people.
The title of the show appropriately begins Black History Month with this spectacular exhibit titled “FOUNDATIONS” History, Service, Culture, elements of life which are the true foundation of our humanity. The foundations visible in her art reflect love, peace, joy, work, gentleness, faith, history and courage to name a few. These principles align with NPHCLA’s mission: “To enhance our local community through partnerships and collaboration.” By purchasing her art, you’ll be giving to and fortifying the foundation for the next generation to stand upon. Help them do that in a major way through this splendid vehicle, the generosity of the artist.
NPHCLA serves the nine historically Black Fraternities and Sororities, by fostering cooperative actions to promote the well-being of its affiliates. The council promotes unity and exposes members to the philosophy of “service for life”. Please support for what promises to be a rewarding experience in giving. Maya Angelou said, “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver. See you there!
