[LOS ANGELES, CA, ] On December 29, 2019 ADOS Los Angeles was unfairly attacked by two guests appearing on the Tieesha Essex YouTube Channel. The guests falsely presented themselves as credible sources of information and chose to discredit the work of ADOS Los Angeles by creating a false narrative surrounding the ADOS movement and its current members. The sole purpose of this video was to cause dissension amongst the Los Angeles members of the ADOS community and cast doubt on the work being done by the group.
ADOS Los Angeles, a lineage based membership organization, believes in a black agenda with specific policy prescriptions that address the losses stemming from the institution of slavery, Jim Crow, redlining, convict leasing, mass incarceration and immigration (ados101.com). This is the work we hope to accomplish. We do not support individuals hashing out personal drama, creating false narratives, nor using slander on social media.
The guests are not, nor have they ever been, on the Advisory Board of ADOS Los Angeles. We recognize that American Descendants of Slavery is a lineage and organic relationships formed by individuals do not represent or constitute a relationship with ADOS Los Angeles. We are seeking a retraction from Tieesha Essex or a removal of the You Tube video, and want to make it clear that we will consider appropriate legal action should further slander continue.
