Former First Lady Michelle Obama will participate in the second United State of Women Summit, which will take place in Los Angeles on May 5-6. United State of Women, an independent nonprofit that grew out of the Obama Administration’s Council on Women and Girls, is focused on inspiring women and allies to turn passion into action.

The Summit will spotlight concrete solutions, connect attendees with leading organizations working at the forefront of today’s most pressing issues, and equip them with tools and training. It will also celebrate women and allies who have made a significant impact in their own communities.

Other Summit participants include Tarana Burke, Jane Fonda, and Mayor Eric Garcetti. To learn more about the program, visit our website. United State of Women is proud to partner with a broad range of organizations as community partners.

The United State of Women hosted its first Summit in June of 2016 in Washington, D.C., convening over 5,000 women from every walk of life – across race, ethnicity, age and geography. To harness attendees’ palpable energy, following the Summit, USOW launched the Galvanize Program, a nationwide effort that turns women’s momentum into strategic action in local communities.

“The United State of Women Summit will lift up the voices of leaders and organizations that are making an impact in their communities,” said Jordan Brooks, Managing Director of the United State of Women. “We’re thrilled that Former First Lady Michelle Obama will join us for our conversations with changemakers across the country who are advocating and organizing in their local communities.”
