Former First Lady Michelle Obama will participate in the second United State of Women Summit, which will take place in Los Angeles on May 5-6. United State of Women, an independent nonprofit that grew out of the Obama Administration’s Council on Women and Girls, is focused on inspiring women and allies to turn passion into action.
The Summit will spotlight concrete solutions, connect attendees with leading organizations working at the forefront of today’s most pressing issues, and equip them with tools and training. It will also celebrate women and allies who have made a significant impact in their own communities.

The United State of Women hosted its first Summit in June of 2016 in Washington, D.C., convening over 5,000 women from every walk of life – across race, ethnicity, age and geography. To harness attendees’ palpable energy, following the Summit, USOW launched the Galvanize Program, a nationwide effort that turns women’s momentum into strategic action in local communities.
