In the wake of recovery relief for Hurricane Harvey and Irma victims in Texas and Florida, Pastor Jamal H. Bryant of Empowerment Temple AME Church in Baltimore, Maryland, noticed a key component missing from the efforts – mental health relief.

With many families clouded with angst and concern from this tragedy, Bryant partnered with Silver Lining Entertainment to launch a mental health initiative called “Having Faith in the Middle of the Flood” to address this issue.

He also bought out four movie theaters in Houston and Beaumont, TX and Tampa, FL to send hurricane victims to the movies to see the new film, “A Question of Faith,” released in theaters on Sept. 30.

“I’ve seen ‘A Question of Faith’ and I believe the values in the movie have healing power and will help take people’s minds off of their current situation and allow them to focus on love and helping others and the importance of working across the line,” said Bryant.

A Question of Faith” follows three diverse families struck by tragedy and their destiny forces them on a converging path to discover God’s love, grace and mercy. The cast includes Kim Fields (“Living Single”), Richard T. Jones (“Judging Amy”), and C. Thomas Howell (“The Amazing Spiderman”).

In addition, Bryant encouraged other pastors to take part in this initiative as a call to action effort to help families recover mentally and spiritually.
