The Rev. Rosalynn K. Brookins will be among the featured preachers at the Summer Revival sponsored by Price Chapel AME Church, 4000 West Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles.
The worship services will take place on Wednesday, June 14, through Friday, June 16, at 7 p.m. The theme is “A Revival of Hope: Spiritual Renewal in the Valley of Dry Bones” based on Ezekiel 37:1-14.
Brookins, the pastor of Walker Temple AME Church, will preach on June 16. The other revivalists are The Rev. Joyce Kitchen, pastor of Emmanuel H.M. Turner AME Church, and the Rev. Darryl Walker, pastor of New Philadelphia AME Church.
“Everyone seeking to revitalize their relationship with the Lord should attend these services and hear powerful, Christ-centered messages by three anointed ministers of God,” said Price Chapel Pastor Benjamin Hollins.
Accepting her call to the ministry in 2000, Brookins was appointed to Walker Temple in 2013. As the wife of the late Bishop H.H. Brookins, the assignment made her the first AME episcopal supervisor to serve as a pastor.
Her education includes a B.A. degree from Philander Smith College, a Master’s Degree from National University and a Master’s of Divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Currently, she is pursuing a doctorate degree at Payne Theological Seminary.
An author and motivational speaker, Brookins is also an adjunct professor at the Southern California School of Ministry. In addition, she is the recipient of awards for outstanding service from the Women’s Missionary Society and Top Ladies of Distinction.
