On Saturday, March 11 the city of Inglewood Information Technology and Communications Department will launched the new city of Inglewood website (www.cityofinglewood.org).
The website has been fully redesigned to be more user-friendly while showcasing the city’s continual growth within the community.
After researching and collecting web traffic data from the old website, ITC staff worked with the website designer, Civic Plus, to add several quick links on the homepage including “Bill Payment,” “Agendas & Minutes,” and the “Citizen Action Center.” Another link included on the homepage is the “Notify Me” option, which allows users to be notified of upcoming events of interest, street closures, or emergency announcements. News will also be automatically published to the city’s Social Media pages in an effort to inform more people. The new website also has the ability to be accessed from any platforms including android and Apple mobile devices, desktop computers, tablets, as well as Smart TVs.
Civic Plus has designed the new website with a feature that includes an integrated video in the background. Of the hundreds of cities the designer has contracted for, the city of Inglewood is the first governmental entity with this feature. The integrated video will continually update to exhibit various community events. Additionally, our site will showcase the progress of the numerous developments and projects the city has underway.
Mayor James T. Butts, Jr. stated, “This website is representative of the new Inglewood—vibrant, sophisticated, cutting edge and interactive. The city of Inglewood has embraced feedback—both positive and negative—as it pertains to our website, and we’ve taken bold steps to incorporate the wishes of the community and outside visitors to make this new website not only more user friendly, but more innovative as well. With the launching of this new website, the city has stepped into the forefront of digital information dissemination. So visit us often on the web and in person.”
