With the closure of Morningside High School in Inglewood set for June 2025, the Morningside Monarch Alumni Association (MMAA) is raising funds to sponsor all activities for the 120 seniors in the class of 2025, which will be Morningside’s last graduating class.

According to alumni officials, the goal is to raise $117,600 to present each senior with gifts valued at $980.  The gifts will include one prom ticket, one grad bash ticket, one senior breakfast ticket, one senior outing ticket, one yearbook, one class t-shirt, and one class hoodie.  All remaining funds will be used to provide other benefits throughout the school year

“With such a big endeavor, we are seeking the support of all MHS alumni and the community at-large to help us reach our goal of $117,600 by donating and/or sponsoring a senior,” said Valerie Lathern, MMA board member.

“The MMA has created a go fund me account to accept donations: https://gofund.me/81d20efe   No donation is too big or too small.” Lathern added that the Morningside Monarch Alumni Association is a 401c organization and all donations rare tax deductible.
