President Issues Executive Orders on Voting on Anniversary of Bloody Sunday

“The right to vote is the foundation of American democracy. Free and fair elections that reflect the will of the American people must be protected and defended,” President Biden remarked during the Martin & Coretta Scott King Unity Breakfast. “But many Americans, especially people of color, confront significant obstacles to exercising that fundamental right. These obstacles include difficulties with voter registration, lack of election information, and barriers to access at polling places.”

The African American Leadership Finance Council (AALFC), a fundraising team for the Joe Biden campaign, organized an online press conference to discuss the importance of Biden/Harris winning the 2020 election.
America is currently in uncertain times with the continual threat of police violence, the trends in bigotry, as well as 180,000 Americans who have died from COVID-19 related deaths. The 60-day checkpoint for the 2020 Presidential Election is upon us, and it is now become a matter of life or death.

The last day to register to vote by mail is Monday, October 19, 2020, but, I would encourage everyone considering voting by mail to do it NOW, rather than wait until the last minute.  You can register at your local post office, on-line and at numerous locations throughout the county of Los Angeles, including at the Los Angeles Sentinel offices. 

Election Day Reminder 2018 General Election

Los Angeles City Clerk Holly L. Wolcott reminds voters that the November 6, 2018 General Election is just four days away. The City of Los Angeles has three (3) measures on LA County’s November ballot, which also includes County, State and Federal contests. All registered voters are encouraged to review their Sample Ballot and City’s Voter Information Pamphlet before going to vote.
