As COVID-19 Positivity Lowers, New Variants Are Rising Up in Los Angeles County

At the end of the MLK holiday and Presidential Inauguration, some good news was waiting as the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has seen a decrease in COVID-19 positivity. At the end of last week, there was a decrease by 30 percent in a seven-day average of daily cases. Despite this, public health officials are still urging the public to continue with proactive measures: wear a face covering and maintain physical distance when venturing outside the house.

Inglewood Approves L.A. Clippers Arena

On Tuesday the Inglewood City Council voted unanimously to approve the sale of publicly-owned property to the developers of the Los Angeles Clippers’ new arena.
Murphy’s Bowl LLC is the company that will develop the Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Center (IBEC). Murphy’s Bowl can purchase the property for the total price of $66.25 million. The price will be shared among several local entities, including Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the Inglewood Unified School District, and the City of Inglewood.

Oprah Winfrey Helps 13,000 People Visualize Their Best Life on WW 2020 Vision Tour

On Saturday, February 29, TV host legend, Oprah Winfrey shared her vulnerability and struggle with her weight with 13,000 people at the Forum here in Los Angeles.  WW (Weight Watchers redefined) partnered with the talk show Icon to create a tour entitled, Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus. They traveled in positive protest about living the best version of your life is part of the core human existence. On Tour, through nine different cities, Oprah curated a “day long party,” full of interactive projects and soul searching.
